What is Acupuncture ?
Acupuncture is the insertion of fine needles into the body at specific points in order to regulate or influence the Qi (pronounced Chee) of the body.
From China, more than 2,500 years ago, acupuncture has spread to places like Korea,Vietnam, Europe, the British Isles , and Japan.
Acupuncture is a major part of Oriental Medicine – it diagnoses, treats illness, prevents disease, and improves well being.
Recently, electromagnetic research has established the specific points on acupuncture. The key to acupuncture is acnowledging humans as complex bioelectric systems. Therefore, points on the skin along energy pathways connect to specific organs, systems and body structure. When the energy is disrupted, the optimum function is disrupted as well.
Acupuncture points stimulate balance and circulate energy
Electro-acupuncture : A method of acupuncture in which an electrical current is applied to needles inserted into the body in order to produce a combined needle and electrical stimulus. Electro-acupuncture can be used in regular body acupuncture, ear acupuncture, head and facial acupuncture, and for anesthesia.
